Facebook Down, Hilarity Ensues
Facebook down! Whatever shall the world do! Facebook users everywhere had trouble accessing the social media website Monday morning, meaning they couldn’t get their morning “likes,” comments, and status updates in before having to start their busy day.
According to NBC News, many users received the following message after trying to do almost anything on the social media site: “An error occurred. Please try again later.”
Before everyone panics, yes the site is up and running once again, so feel free to like that picture of a dog with a funny face, comment on your sister’s photo from the weekend, or post your status about your mid-day snack.
Once the issues had been resolved, Facebook issued the following statement:
“Earlier this morning, while performing some network maintenance, we experienced an issue that prevented some users from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time. We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100 percent. We’re sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.”
While the social media site was experiencing trouble, Twitter saw a boom in activity as the tag #facebookdown began trending. Seriously, some users just seemed so very…. upset:

Just imagine having a birthday on the day that Facebook comments and statuses are down. You might as well have never been born.

Others found the whole situation rather interesting. Some even suggested that life could possibly go on, and others even believe that there might be light at the end of the dark dark tunnel that is “Facebook Down.”
