Female Patriots Fan Punched In Face By Male Jets Fan [Video]

The New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots in an unlikely overtime win on Sunday but the real drama happened after the game.

A group of overenthusiastic Jets fans were celebrating when all of a sudden a male Jets fan reeled back and punched a female Patriots fan in the face.

The entire attack was caught on video. The man who sent in the video, Rob, tells Deadspin the “Fight started in the stands with two girls fighting. And moved out to where I shot the video. Beer was thrown and clothing over the balcony. Security went after the guy. Didn’t see what happened after that.”

The puncher is most certainly a Jets fan based on the #60 Wayne Chrebet jersey he is wearing.

The female who was attacked doesn’t exactly look innocent in the video. The woman charged the Jets fan right before he punched her in the face. We assume she was a Patriots fan based on the red and white she she was wearing, and her apparent hatred for the New York Jets fan.

On the Deadspin website a commenter wrote:

Yeah I saw two girls fighting as soon as the game ended they were stopped by several people then I took off. The girls in the video including the girl that got hit were patriot fans as they’re wearing patriots colors, they sat in the row right in front of me. they were getting heckled a lot of the game by the drunk jets fans behind me and they were disrespecting them and were basically looking for a fight with the guys they were with. But the puncher was not one of the hecklers right behind me. The whole thing was shameful it’s a football game and you don’t hit a girl or call her a bitch which both happened to them.

Speaking to the NY Post a spokesman for the Jets said, “We are aware of the situation and we do not tolerate that behavior.”

The attack is currently being investigated by state police.
