‘Clash Of Clans’ Faces Competition From ‘DomiNations’ & ‘Boom Beach’

Clash of Clans may be one of the most popular strategy games played on mobile devices, but it could face some hefty competition from DomiNations and Boom Beach. Supercell’s base-building/multiplayer battle game has dominated both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for some time now. DomiNations from Big Huge Games is described as a combination of Civilization and Clash of Clans, according to a Forbes report. Meanwhile, Boom Beach is described as a unique game that has some much needed edge.

DomiNations

Like Clash of Clans, you will have to build a base in DomiNations. Once you build a base, you will have to build a few resources and troop producing buildings. Then it turns into a multiplayer game once you gather your troops and resources. It also borrows a little from Civilization in which you can take your town through the space age and turn your troops into robotic infantry. Still, DomiNations is identical to Clash of Clans in which you have to level up to defeat your warriors.

DomiNations was just released on iOS and Android by Brian Reynolds and Tim Train. It was also published by the Tokyo-based Nexon Mobile, according to PR Tech + Gaming. Reynolds is also the veteran designer who created successful games like Civilizations 2 and Frontierville, also known as the Pioneer Trail on Facebook. DomiNations has Clash of Clans bean since you have more control of your units and you’re able to strategize deeper than you can on Clash of Clans. People who have been playing the game have been enjoying it so far. Only time will tell if DomiNations will conquer Clash of Clans.

Boom Beach

Boom Beach is another mobile strategy game designed by Super Cell. You also have to build bases in the game, but the build times are much shorter, according to The Day Herald. In Clash of Clans, the build times can take as long as five days. On Boom Beach, the build time of buildings on level 1 take only a few seconds to build which is better than the weeks it takes to create buildings on Clash of Clans. You can also earn diamonds on Boom Beach in which you can also use to boost your build times.

One of the most noted features of Boom Beach is the Gunboat, which takes place during battle. This allows you to strategize your attacks based on the strongest defenses. It also includes features like freezing and healing your troops after they been hurt. The Gunboat beats the spell factory on Clash of Clans, which costs elixirs to cast spells.
